When products are sold on different occasions, they need to obtain certain certifications according to different standards before they can be successfully sold in the market. In 2015, Saudi Arabia implemented new standards for the import of toilets. In 2018, new water efficiency certification requirements were proposed for bathroom products.

That is to say, bathroom products exported to Saudi Arabia, including toilets, showers, faucets, and other products, must meet the corresponding water efficiency standards before they can be sold in Saudi Arabia. And this water efficiency label will be pasted on the outer box of the product.

What is Water Efficiency Certification
The main purpose of this certification is whether the product can meet the efficiency certification of the rational use of water resources in the process of use. This certification was proposed by Saudi Arabia. The water resources here are relatively scarce, and the increase in the cost of water has also caused a great burden on the consumption of water resources. Therefore, in order to ensure that Saudi Arabia’s water resources can be used reasonably, the targeted proposal is made. Water efficiency certification requirements.

How to apply for Saudi water efficiency certification
After the production of the manufacturer’s product is completed, the sample can be provided to the relevant laboratory. After paying the test fee, the laboratory will test the relevant product. If the test result is passed, then the product will be tested. Provide the corresponding water efficiency test report. With this report, you can apply for Saudi water efficiency certification. After the data review is passed, the product can get the corresponding water efficiency certification mark. It can be exported to relevant countries in Saudi Arabia by sticking the relevant water efficiency standard on the box of the packaged goods.

Saudi Water Efficiency Standards
The Saudi Water Efficiency Standards are a set of voluntary guidelines developed by the Saudi Standards, Metrology, and Quality Organization (SASO) to improve water efficiency in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The guidance is based on International Organization for Standardization (ISO) Standard 22464-1, “Water Efficiency Management Systems – Classification and Labelling”.

These standards are designed to help businesses and individuals save water and money while protecting the environment. Compliant businesses can display the Saudi Water Efficiency Label on their products and services.

These standards cover a range of water conservation topics, including:

· conserve water

· Reclaimed water reuse and recycling

· Water meters and metering

· Water-saving appliances and fixtures

· Greywater system

· rainwater collecting

The standards are voluntary, but businesses that display the Saudi water efficiency label are recognized as leaders in water efficiency. This can be a valuable marketing tool and a way to save money and water.
